Canada is the United States' neighbor on the north. The Great Central Plain and the Western Highlands pass through it, and yet it has fewer people than the United States. Can you tell why?

There are large crops of fruit and grain in the southern part only of Canada. In this part only are there any large cities. Few people live in the northern part where it is very cold. Many whales live in the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Hudson Bay. Are they of use to man?

Notebook Work: Label the top of your notebook page with "LESSON 45." Sketch the country of Canada. Draw a whale swimming in the Hudson Bay. Label the drawing, "CANADA."
